Juanfer Vélez crowned champion of first Red Bull Cerro Abajo series

Colombian riders dominate street raceing final

After a street race competition full of skill and speed, Colombian rider Juanfer Vélez was crowned the overall champion of Red Bull Cerro Abajo in Guanajuato, Mexico. 

Despite not finishing the race due to a burst tire, Vélez incredible performance during the first two stops of the series meant he finished with 119 points, followed by Cámilo Sánchez (COL) in second place with 95 points, and Red Bull rider Tomas Slavik (CZE) in third place with 78 points.

Camilo Sánchez had a successful day too, winning the race in Guanajuato with an impressive time of 1:55.766 minutes. 

The podium was completed by Red Bull rider Jackson Goldstone (CAN), who finished in second place with 1:57.284 (+2.218), and Felipe Agurto (CHI), who obtained third place with a time of 1:58.621 (+2.855).

A spectacular end to the 2023 season

Today was the first time that Red Bull Cerro Abajo had taken place in Mexico. The challenging 1.2km track weaved through narrow streets and into residents’ homes. 

The best local rider was Nicolás Cantú, who achieved tenth place in the overall classification with a time of 2:06.559 minutes (+10.793). The people of Guanajuato showed their hospitality to all the participants, who arrived at the emblematic Alhóndiga de Granaditas to finish the race.
