History was re-written as Colombian Sebastián Holguín claimed the first-place finish at Red Bull Valparaíso Cerro Abajo 2026. He was joined on the podium by Adrien Loron (FRA) in 2nd place and Felipe Agurto (CHI) in 3rd.
Valparaíso, CHILE, February 15, 2026 – Red Bull Valparaíso Cerro Abajo returned to Chile for its 22nd edition, cementing its status as a cornerstone of the urban downhill World Series. Fifteen of the world’s elite riders delivered a fiercely contested battle, with the top spot swapping hands amid razor-thin time gaps that underscored the sky-high level of competition. – Emotions ran high as Sebastián Holguín charged through Valparaíso’s steep hills and maze-like streets, with extreme gradients and relentless stair sections into one flawless run, crossing the finish line in a record time of 2:15.432.
– “I was really focused in enjoying my ride all the way to the bottom, I knew I was pushing my limits and going fast. I think in the middle of the run I knew, ‘Wait, I have this bit, I’m going to win’ – it was just in my mind all time. This is the biggest urban downhill race in the world, and to win it – it’s just amazing, I’m really happy”, celebrated Holguín.
– France’s Adrien Loron finished a close second behind Holguín. “It’s really important for me to be consistent, that’s very hard in urban DH. Super happy about the 2nd place and to be safe, and enjoy this result with my family.”
– In a close battle for the last podium spot, Chile’s own Felipe Agurto took the third place ahead of Gabriel Giovannini. “I’m very happy for my run. I know that always, always, you have to push a bit more. I know the other riders are so good. Now in the third place, but will keep training and we’ll see!”, said Agurto.
– Four-time Red Bull Cerro Abajo champion Tomas Slavík (CZE) finished 5th overall and was happy with his result. “The level of riding is constantly being pushed over the limit, and once again it was done here in Valparaíso today. It’s the first time ever, that I’m fifth and I’m stoked about it!”, smiled Slavík.
– The last time a Colombian rider was crowned as the Red Bull Cerro Abajo winner, the year was 2013 and that rider was Marcelo Gutierrez. Now that record has been broken by 21-year old Holguín with a historical win in Chile.
– Red Bull Cerro Abajo World Series 25-26 continues with its third stop, returning to the Ligurian coastline city of Genova, Italy this summer.
